About Claudia

I've spent my career on both sides of the hiring conversation. Inside organizations, deciding who to hire and promote. And alongside individuals, deciding what to do next.

That combination is the reason most clients find their way to me. I know what the people on the other side of the table are looking for, because for years I was one of them.

I work with clients across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, in English and Spanish.

Careers rarely look linear from the inside. Mine certainly didn't.

I started in international banking, in corporate accounts management at The Sanwa Bank and ING Bank. It was a commercial education more than anything else. I learned how international business actually works, and I learned it early.

Then I spent nearly a decade at Colegio Nueva Granada in Bogotá, leading human resources restructuring, designing professional development programs, and building organizational excellence. That decade changed how I think about work. I stopped seeing organizations as structures and started seeing them as the people inside them, and I learned what it takes to build a place where those people actually thrive.

Executive search came next, with AMROP TOP Management (now Heidrick & Struggles) and MRI Network Andina. This is where I learned the thing clients find most useful today: what separates the candidates who get hired from the ones who don't. I was in the rooms where those decisions were made. I learned to read leadership readiness and evaluate potential from the other side of the table.

In 2017 I founded Claudia Gama Coaching & Consulting to bring all of it directly to individuals. That same year I founded Talent@EDU, a consultancy that helps schools and universities across Latin America and the U.S. attract and retain exceptional educators and leaders.

Today I coach clients from students chasing a first internship to executives defining their next chapter, whether they are in New York, Bogotá, or Madrid.

No part of that was planned. All of it turned out to be preparation.

I'm based in New York City. I've been married for 35 years and I'm the proud mother of three adult children, each following their own professional path. Watching them navigate their careers has taught me a great deal about what young professionals are actually up against, and it keeps me honest about how much the ground has shifted since I started.

When I'm not coaching, you'll find me cooking, working my way through New York's restaurants and coffee shops, at a Broadway show, or somewhere in the middle of my international community.
