About Claudia

I've spent my career on both sides of the career and talent conversation: inside organizations, making decisions about people, teams, and leadership, and alongside individuals, helping them make thoughtful decisions about what comes next.

That combination shapes how I work today. I understand what organizations look for in talent and leaders, but I also understand the person on the other side of that decision—their aspirations, strengths, uncertainties, and potential.

I work with individuals and organizations across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, in English and Spanish.

Careers rarely look linear from the inside. Mine certainly didn't.

I started my career in international banking, trading sovereign debt and managing corporate accounts at The Sanwa Bank and ING Bank. That experience gave me an early understanding of financial markets, business, client relationships, and working across cultures and markets, and established the international perspective that continues to shape my work today.

Then I spent nearly a decade at Colegio Nueva Granada in Bogotá, Colombia, leading Human Resources and Academic Support Services. My work included organizational restructuring, talent management, professional development, and strengthening teams and workplace practices. That chapter changed how I thought about work: organizations are ultimately about people, and their success depends on helping those people develop and thrive.

Executive search added another perspective. Through my work with AMROP TOP Management (now Heidrick & Struggles) and MRI Network Andina, I gained firsthand experience evaluating talent, leadership readiness, and organizational fit. I was in the rooms where hiring decisions were made, and I learned what differentiates candidates beyond what appears on a résumé.

In 2017, I founded Claudia Gama Coaching & Consulting to bring those experiences together. Today, I work with individuals navigating career and leadership decisions and with organizations developing, transitioning, and identifying talent. Through Talent@EDU, I also support schools with leadership and executive search.

Different chapters, but a common thread: helping people and organizations make thoughtful decisions about talent, careers, and leadership.

I'm originally from Colombia and now based in New York City. I've been married for 35 years and am the proud mother of three adult children, each following their own professional path.

Watching them navigate their careers has given me another perspective on the opportunities and challenges young professionals face today, as well as a constant reminder of how much the world of work continues to evolve.

When I'm not coaching, you'll often find me walking through Central Park with my husband and our Mini Aussie, Enzo, cooking for my family, exploring New York's restaurants and coffee shops, or enjoying a Broadway show.
